Testimonials

Perhaps this program is for you too!

College

“What else do I do besides graduate hit the nail right on the head! I was a hockey play on Scholarship and I sustained a career ending injury. This ended my aspirations to play in the NHL. This process (Walkabout) gave me the confidence to realize a new goal working towards a degree in Natural Sciences and pursue a career in Solar Energy.”

Transitions

“As a Medical Doctor in the military I realized I wouldn’t be promoted. That means I would be exiting the military. I thought pursuing a role at the CDS (Center for Disease Control) was a great option. I learned that I was stalling completing work towards this outcome I was suppressing my English degree and my passion for writing. I wrote a few document related to medicine and the military besides operating as a doctor. Then I realized the hardest part was telling my mother is was more interested in writing than I was in medicine for the transition to civilian life.”

Retirement

“I was fairly confident that my transition to retirement would become a new chapter in my life as well as my spouses. We had no inkling as to the impact that our grandchildren (all 3 of them) would have on the 2 of us. The Walkabout guided me to include the Family Role and Citizen Role. I was focused more initially on part time employment or temporary employment. The purpose statement of my Walkabout plan changed 2 times during the first two weeks of turning on the Walkabout Plan. The satisfaction I achieved was a great balance of Family and Work that I wished I had applied prior to retiring.”
